Printing from Windows
After you have your view arranged properly, follow these steps to print from Windows:
1. Choose File ^ Print Setup.
The Print Setup window (Figure 13-11) appears.
2. Adjust the Print settings to match your job. Then click OK.
Windows remembers your printer's usual settings, so you usually don't need to change the choice of printer and paper size. However, you may want to double-check the Orientation options, since SketchUp images usually use Landscape orientation, and most other documents use Portrait. When you click OK, the window closes.

The Windows Print Setup window gives you options to choose a printer, the paper size, and the orientation of the paper. You seldom need to tweak any of the other options.

3. If you like, choose Print Preview.
SketchUp displays the Print Preview window, with the same options you use to print the document. When you click OK, you see a preview of the image on a page, exactly as it will print. If you're happy with the results, choose Print and the image will hit the page.
4. If you didn't visit the Print Preview window, choose File ^ Print.
The Print window (Figure 13-12) opens with options to choose the printer, the number of copies, and the image's dimensions.

In the Windows Print window, you can choose standard options like printer and number of copies. Turn on the "Fit to page" checkbox to automatically size the image to fit the paper. Turn off the checkbox if you want to print an image to scale.

5. Choose the options you want to use.
If you want more than one copy, type a number in the Copies box. If you choose the "Fit to page" option, the image is sized to match the paper. If you want to print to scale, make sure the view of the image is in Parallel Projection (Camera ^ Parallel Projection). Then turn off the "Fit to page" option. The values under Scale show the current scale of the printout. You can manually change these values, which changes the size of the image. Images too big to fit on a single page will print on multiple pages. The number of pages needed to print your image appears in the Tiled Sheet Print Range box.
Note: Perspective views cannot be used to print plans to scale. Your camera view of the model must be in a Parallel Projection view (Camera ^ Parallel Projection). When SketchUp can't print a view to scale, the Scale setting is grayed out. For best results choose head-on views: Front, Back, Top, Bottom, Left, and Right.
SketchUp prints the image according to your specs.
